PostSubject: The Awakening. (Complete)    The Awakening. (Complete) I_icon_minitimeTue Apr 13, 2010 10:16 am

It had been two weeks since Celeria was woken up from cryo-stasis. To this day, she continues to remember it as a considerably uncomfortable experience. She felt as if her muscles had completely wasted away in atrophy and it took her longer than she imagined to get her strength back. She had even lost a certain portion of muscle-mass. However, what troubled her most was the immense gap in her memory. Twenty years... she had spent the previous twenty years practically frozen. Her mind was bewildered with assumptions as to the current state of the universe. The planet that was now the new home of the saiyan race wasn't particularly luxurious, so it only subtracted from her general mood. Presently, until she got her strength back, she would have to sit idly and wait for her body to restore itself so she'll be able to train once more.

And thus she sat, her head rested on the back of her hand and her legs resting crossed on the information desk in front of her. Her eyes observed the screen lazily. "Not like anyone is mad enough to pass by this wasteland of a planet..." - she muttered to herself as she closed her eyes. Silence of the surroundings had almost lulled her to sleep. She was one of only a handful of saiyans awake. There were three to four of them, at best. This was not counting the scientists who could not leave their posts, of course. For a moment, Celeria regretted being woken up so early on but she was quick to shrug it off, accepting that the circumstances were such given her high rank in the militia. In an attempt to keep herself awake, she crossed her arms and gazed at the massive window located on the far end of the control room. For a moment, her eyes were locked on the tranquil depths of space.

Suddenly, Celeria was shaken by a loud alert system, and her eyes witnessed a small vessel dart across the horizon. She jumped up from her seat as a couple of technicians ran towards her.

"What is it?" - Celeria was quick to inquire.

"It's a... " - the scientist was visibly stunned as he continued - "It's a ship, but... it's structure. From the little that the scanner managed to catch, the vessel is a larger-sized replica of a saiyan space-pod."

"What?!" - Celeria's eyes widened, this information was nothing short of a revelation. Her mind immediately went to wondering whether she could ever get to the bottom of this mystery. But if the spacecraft was only passing by, there would be no reason for a recon research flight. Luckily, Celeria's craving for a challenge was met, when the second scientist began:

"It landed! It landed on our neighbouring planet! That is far too much proximity for comfort! Whoever must be piloting it clearly doesn't know that that rock is ancient and practically uninhabitable, no matter the level of technology!" - the saiyan pondered for a few moments and added - "Celeria, I know you are presently still in recovery, but you must go and evaluate the situation. Whatever happens, just don't draw attention to yourself. We do not know what we're dealing with and we cannot risk to jeopardise the colony."

The corners of Celeria's lips arched into a subtle smirk as she nodded and swiftly made her way to the launch platform. Running through the corridors, she felt a sensation she had almost forgotten; the thrill of the unknown, the chance for a challenge. She supposed now wasn't the time for showing off, what landed might as well be a serious threat. So she subdued her cravings and ran into her space pod which blasted off immediately for the dark planet where the intruder had landed.

Hours seemed to stretch into days within this minuscule can of a ship. Sure the training systems were decent but there was nothing on this vessel which could provide what he desired. Time continued to go by and still there were no results. Vegeta stared through one of the ship's windows, its polished surface reflecting his sombre expression back at him. He crossed his arms and closed his eyes, as if annoyed by the sight of his normal, unchanged self. Making his way to the control board, he was determined to land somewhere; anywhere, so long he could at least stretch his legs on proper ground. Having examined his current location, he felt even more aggravated.

"There's nothing in this forsaken patch of space." - he grunted in apparent discontent, but he felt overcome by his wish to get out of the confines of his spacecraft. He punched in a few random coordinates and let the ship do its work while he took a seat and prepared for touch down at his leisure. His arms were crossed once again and his eyes fell to the ground. Vegeta felt unwilling to admit to himself that in truth, he knew not where to go from here. His mind slaved over the pieces of information he had managed to gather. Most of his flight was spent in a chaotic array of thoughts and theories about the great Super Saiyan. At least, the thoughts were more preferable than considering his own failure and general setback.

Vegeta was shaken from his reverie by an intense landing which shook the very walls of the ship. He had deduced that the terrain must be pretty inhospitable. Nevertheless, he rose from his seat and slowly made his way to the door. When the mechanical seal slowly descended, Vegeta made a few steps forward, immediately examining the horizon.

"Tch." - a brief interjection was the wholesome impression his findings had evoked. The surroundings were practically featureless, save for the distant black hills and the rocky terrain. Indeed, this was nothing more than a barren rock, a pale shadow of a former planet. However, despite this, he slowly made his way down and off the platform. He continued to survey the surroundings as the fierce winds wildly waved his dark, rough hair.

PostSubject: Re: The Awakening. (Complete)    The Awakening. (Complete) I_icon_minitimeWed Apr 14, 2010 11:01 am

All was silent, the land ravaged by the torrential fury of a once volcanic world. Now, through the eroded rocky formations, through the tall valleys that deviated into the world’s smoking core, and through the gargantuan, stone spires that rose far into the horizon, everything was... dead. This planet, this world that had once flourished under the lavish starlight above, had been consumed, forcefully dragged to despair, kicking and screaming, the cries unmerciful as the core of the planet deadened the life and the prosperity of the surface, with one single devastating regurgitation of its loins. Molten rock had scorched the surface many hundreds of years ago, the unsuspecting life fed upon by the land, flesh and bone returning to the core. But this was just the beginning of the terror.

Something was drawing It closer to this graveyard world, something or someone was a beacon, feeding the entity the light It required to come forth out of the shadows. It had waited, albeit patiently, for a millennia, seething and thriving in the dark, in the recesses of the galaxy, in the corner of your eye, in the place you were unable to look. But in this moment, in this unbridled moment, It would wait no more.

Amongst the star ocean above came a shimmer, through the staunch atmosphere that still carried with it the scent of molten residue and the sombre fumes of the planets bowels, a vessel broke through. As the ship tore through the thick smog that had collected in abundance over the centuries, It became aware of the beacon. Here was the anchor; here was the perfect presence to derive... tangibility. The vessel landed violently, its collision with the planet’s surface causing a rupture in the crust. Fork-like crevices in the world branched out, once steady plates of land shattering and flaking into debris under the incredible strain of the vessel landing. Such a ravaging entrance.

Something began to curdle in the fabrics of the air in that instant. At first, small forces began to stir, molecules twisting and colliding in the most awesome, silent display. Something had descended from the ship, that something male... and curiously, Saiyan. It had felt this before, the Saiyan ‘race’, It had watched them grow, evolve, and more immediately, It had watched their demise. This discrepancy caused yet another tear at the fabrics of reality, more forces began to combine and combust, a subtle breeze began to transform into a stray wind. The Saiyans were dead, had It not been watching close enough? Had It misplaced this phenomenon in the time It had spent thirsting? The wind now intensified, forces acting both for and against it. A small eruption of matter occurred in that moment, a spark of energy, undetectable by life ignited in the growing tornado. A florescent green hue shone in the centre of the winds, its light pulsating, like an organic heart, pumping life into... nothing. This was it, this was the anchor, this had caused the tear in the veil. It was transcending space and reality. It was existing. So close now, it could feel tangibility forming, melding Its consciousness into shape. The green hue began to solidify, its light no longer just a shine. The pulsations of this life began to create the outline of something humanoid, the transparency of the winds and light dying into a form that began to cast a menacing shadow on the crust below. Almost there, just something more...

And that something more was sight. Unlike it had never done so before, Its perception of the galaxy exploded. All around, everywhere and anywhere, things were no longer just a feeling or just an impulse, things were visible. As the forces that had crafted It stilled to nothing, and the air returned to its silent humidity, It had finally come to be. But It was no longer an It, It was he, and he was... Gelth. Yes, Gelth, the scourge of what was and what would be. The perfect... ‘name’ as they called it. He was Gelth, and he was starving.

Her pod had crashed not much further away from the intruder's touchdown site. Without wasting a second, Celeria jumped out of her ship and examined her surroundings. She wondered who'd want to land to such a grim desert of a planet. But there were more important things to attend to. She tapped her scouter a few times and it did not take long for her to locate her company on this rock. Even though the scouter had detected an average power level, Celeria still proceeded with caution, for the sake of the colony. Taking off into the air, she was within range of the intruder in but a few minutes. She landed behind some conveniently placed rock formations to inspect the situation.

Celeria could not help but notice the uncomfortable conditions of the planet. There were violent winds all about and, aside waving her hair madly, she had trouble focusing her eyes to the visitor. She first caught sight of the ship, it was labeled "Capsule 3". "It certainly is no saiyan ship..." - she remarked to herself, clearly surprised. "But they were right about the specifics... this was built using a saiyan pod as a reference." - this find only increased her surprise. The intruder stood somewhat further away from the ship, but the line of sight was blocked, so Celeria could only see the individual's dark hair waving in the wind. With increased curiosity, she rose straight up, determined to relocate to a position which would allow her a better look.

Indeed, there was nothing on this planet to incite any sort of interest. It was clear to Vegeta that he had thoroughly wasted his time landing here. If nothing, he supposed a little fresh air was nice... or at least it would've been, had the atmosphere of the planet been at least a little more hospitable. He even disregarded the thought of training here; the place failed to meet even his minimum requirements. He closed his eyes and swiftly turned back around towards the ship when, in his mind, sparked the realisation that he wasn't alone. What's more, he had sensed an unusually strong power level. Well, unusual for this abandoned corner of the universe, at least. He smirked to himself as he disappeared.

Nothing could prepare him for the sight that met his eyes once he reappeared behind his watcher, who had turned his way almost instantly as his feet touched the ground. The armor. The tail. The scouter. It was unmistakable. Vegeta gasped in shock as his eyes widened and his jaw fell slightly open. He was quick to compose himself visually, even though his very being was overcome with utter shock. "YOU... you're... a saiyan!" He could barely believe finding anyone in this middle of nowhere, let alone a female of his own kind. He felt reluctant to admit it, but his mind went absolutely blank at the sheer magnitude of this revelation.

PostSubject: Re: The Awakening. (Complete)    The Awakening. (Complete) I_icon_minitimeThu Apr 15, 2010 12:19 pm

Existence was bizarre. Gelth couldn’t find the words or the feelings to describe what this was. He had previously existed outside of matter, his connection to this universe was just a weak tether, lassoed around the heart of the universe. He had previously existed in the shadows, useable, untouchable and intangible. His vision not quite vision, his hearing not quite hearing, and his hunger not quite hunger. Or at least, they weren’t the same senses in respect to what a life form felt. This he now knew. Before even becoming aware of his body, his limbs, his integers, his height and his weight, the beast became aware of his hunger. His tangible form, it was not without needs, and already, just moments after formation, the need to feed was his dominant urge. This was curious however, was it that those who existed within the flesh were weaker, more prone to listening to their every desire? It must have been the limited capacity of the brain, the synapses firing rapidly, neurotransmission awakening neuro-networks of desire. This starvation was devastating.

An extensive, slithering tongue left the mouth of the beast, caressing his lips, moisturising the newly formed skin that formed the pulp. This was the beast’s first taste of life. Fibres settled on his budding taste glands, residue collected from the dust and smoke particles that cluttered the already baron planet now brewed in his mouth. Gelth pursed his lips, the flavour of reality was exquisite. Next came the smell of his surroundings. It was all a sudden culmination, as the monster serenely inhaled, causing his nostrils to flair, his nose detected a great cocktail of scents. It varied from the warred brimstone that flooded its sullen stench from the bowels of the planet, to a fresh, organic smell, radiating from the nearby life. Making use of his ears, Gelth listened to the howling of the wind, the sound being carried from across a great gulf. How sombre. Carefully peeling his eyelids open, the beast finally became aware of the world. It was vibrant, even in a place that was deemed the backend of the galaxy. The sky, the clouds, the smoke, the smog, the rocky formations, mountains, hills and crevices... this universe was brimming with solids. Finally adjusting his sight to two distant blips, Gelth set his vision for the first time on actual life. Where he had previously perceived only one entity, now, in an organic state, he perceived two. It was most difficult (with the many senses that life possessed in this galaxy), to make head or tail of the two people. As his senses calmed however, and life settled within his bubbling vessel of a body, Gelth was sure that it would all start to eventually make sense. Human perception was... overwhelming.

Celeria was about to ascend forward and assume a more forthcoming position in observing the matter once her senses picked up the crack of rocks right behind her. Ready for anything, she swiftly turned around and clenched her fists firmly. However, her fists would soon be undone as her mind became absolutely bewildered with the sight that met her eyes. Indeed, she found she was ready for anything but this. Examining her company, she found that before her stood none other than Prince Vegeta himself. She gasped but quickly collected herself and began:

"P-Prince Vegeta...?! You?!" Her eyes widened as she raised her hand and tapped the scouter to shut it off, preventing its incessant beeping. Indeed, Vegeta seemed to be equally surprised to see her, his sheer shock was more than apparent. When he came to inquire whether she was really a saiyan, one realisation immediately cooled Celeria's mind as her gaze fell to the ground and a few moments of aggravating silence ensued. She was quick to begin, in a low and collected tone: "Yes, I am a saiyan. And judging from your reaction, your father was right to send us here." She made a few steps forward and past Vegeta. There, she added: "And yes, I'm not the only one."

The revelation was immense, this woman was indeed a saiyan! Vegeta still couldn't wrap his head around this fact. And there were others? Did she mean that there were MORE saiyans out there? So his race hadn't been wiped out after all! Clever bastard, his old man was. But how did he manage it? And just how many saiyans were still alive? These questions raced through his mind chaotically and he found it difficult to think, let alone speak. He soon managed to collect himself and proceeded with his questions:

"And just what did my father do? And how many of you are there?" This situation unnerved him. As if Kakarott wasn't enough, now there was a regiment of beings that would threaten to surpass him. If he had received these news but a few years ago, he would rush as fast as he could carry himself to this alleged saiyan colony. But his priorities have changed and he found that what he wanted most was to get stronger. Maybe then he would come back and lead this pack of saiyan weaklings. This woman's powerlevel was unusual for a saiyan of his time, but it was still humorously inferior. And if she's their leader, he'd shudder to think how weak the rest of them were. For reasons unknown to him, Vegeta felt as if he was wasting time. He smirked to himself and went on:

"Not like it matters anyway. A lost pack of saiyan underlings is no business of mine. I'm getting off of this wretched rock and I suggest you do the same." - he turned around and slowly started making his way back to his ship, suffocating the questions that burned in his with each consecutive step.

PostSubject: Re: The Awakening. (Complete)    The Awakening. (Complete) I_icon_minitimeSun Apr 18, 2010 11:37 am

He had hands, solid, humanoid hands. They were large, like shovels, and as black as the shade. His fingernails tipped sharply at the end of every finger, they were animalistic, like something you would find on a bird of prey, only so much more deadlier. As the monster’s eyes traced further up his own hands and onto his muscular arms, he became aware of the abundance of blood vessels, veins and arteries that pumped his newly formed blood about his body. These arms were powerful, if used correctly, they could become organic machines, more fearsome than iron and steel vices, and more agile and efficient than a panther’s swipe. Examining his highly defined chest, Gelth became aware of the scale of his body. His pectorals had powerful definition, his abs forming a very clear, muscular six pack. Below his torso were the beast’s stalk-like legs. They stood lankily and they too were muscular. His feet however were the most impressive work of his formation. He stood tall, balancing on the fore-bones of his feet, each foot forming three menacing claws, the tips as sharp as blades, easily capable of shattering through solid objects such as stone and metals. They would serve their master greatly in the days to come, in tasks such as climbing, sprinting, and breaking organics. Falling from what would otherwise be the creature’s scalp, were a series of long, black tendrils, he felt them gently sway and brush up against his back in a coming breeze. Gelth felt great power in these humanoid inventions of his. His tendrils were every bit alive as himself, and they too felt his hunger, and they yearned, wishing to conceal living organisms in an unforgettable embrace. The entirety of the beast’s body was designed with one purpose in mind. The hunt.

Taking what would be his first steps in this world of the living, Gelth forced his claws into the stone below. Each nail buried itself into the rock, piercing its crust like razor sharp talons. With each movement, the sound of breaking and crunching stone emanated from the ground below. As Gelth moved towards the two life forms now seemingly interacting in the distance, he further became aware of them both. They were suited individuals, both wearing what he recalled to be Saiyan armour. So it was true, they were both of the Saiyan denomination. One of them was male however, and the other female… gender, a confusing concept at the best of times, but nonetheless, intriguing to bare witness to. Adding to the number of first times, a slithering grin malformed the surface of the beast’s face, if only they knew he was stalking them, waiting and preying. And in his time, his infinite time, Gelth had become very good at waiting.

Celeria needed a moment to take in this occurrence. She had come upon the very heir to the saiyan throne and, for a moment, this meant that there might be hope for the restoration of her glorious race. However, it was not to be, for Celeria's hopes were dashed when Vegeta turned around and coldly disregarded the last few survivors of his race. Celeria was totally taken aback by his comment. His race, his people - they were a waste of time to him. He called them all underlings, men and women whose families sacrificed their lives to save him from Frieza. Her hands trembled as she was consumed with rage unlike she'd ever felt before. Blazing rivers of bitterness coursed through her blood as her power level began to rise instinctively.

"You mean to tell me you don't give a care about your own people?! You ought be overjoyed at the very prospect of having any followers still alive!" Celeria's voice increased in severity with each consecutive word. "But no... we are not your followers any longer. Like we'd ever pledge our allegiance to a dog with NO SAIYAN PRIDE!" Celeria had exploded with energy, her aura shattering the surroundings to bits as she thrust her palms back and forth again, delivering a devastating Final Flash right onto Vegeta. She jumped upwards and formed two very large emerald green ki orbs around her palms.

"YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO EVERY SAIYAN THAT EVER LIVED!" As her severe scream thundered throughout the wasteland, she fired the orbs into the explosion below. They had formed into a colossal ki wave and had taken the overall damage to astounding proportions, the surroundings themselves had faded in the horrific flash that resulted from the cataclysmic blasts. As the dust began to clear, Celeria still hovered in the air, breathing heavily, with her limbs still trembling from sheer anger.

Vegeta had disregarded the rants of the saiyan woman, until she had questioned his capital principle - his saiyan pride. He turned around sharply, but only to suffer a smash of destructive energy. Her ki had impacted him severely, as he didn't bother to raise his power level around the weakling. Her attack had knocked the air clear out of his lungs and hammered him into the ground, shattering his armor and cutting his skin badly. He was far from frightened, but substantially surprised and greatly aggravated. She called him a disgrace. That was the final straw. But as he attempted to rise, he was struck by an even greater ki attack. The severity of the blast made his limbs feel numb. Vegeta growled as he powered up, effectively shielding himself from the destructive potential of the explosion.

When the atmosphere cleared, he focused his eyes on the saiyan wench and his eyes burned with retribution.

"You... HOW DARE YOU! I'LL SHOW YOU A THING OR TWO ABOUT SAIYAN PRIDE!" Vegeta's body erupted with ki as he launched into the air, forming a fist that, within the blink of an eye, lodged itself deep in Celeria's stomach. Vegeta grinned as she bent over in pain. He whispered to her through his teeth. "For that, I will have your life." Instantly, he made a sharp turn, attempting to hammer her down into the rocks.

Gelth would have proceeded further, but an extraordinary thing was occurring. There, in the distance, where the two Saiyan warriors resided, a battle had broken out. They were fighting, as was the nature of their race, this the monster was aware of. But it left a single question searing away at the newly formed synapses of Gelth’s brain. Why? From what he could feel (although he was still coming to terms with the many overwhelming senses he now possessed), these combatants emanated intense emotions of… rage towards one another. Such colossal feelings had been absent just moments ago, the volatility of their emotions was puzzling. This would of course destroy the element of surprise for the beast. He would be unable to strike, not now, not while they were in the war mind frame. Such an action would result in his thirst being extinguished permanently, and of course in his premature death.

Slithering forward, hunched animalistically behind the many rock formations that served as his hiding point, Gelth continued to watch. He was unsure whether or not these new senses of his betrayed him, but it seemed to him that the male was extraordinarily powerful. The synapses in his head erratically fired away, bubbling and processing as the monster observed the male Saiyan. He looked so… succulent, his energy a meal fit for a banquet. Now, even more so than before, Gelth’s hunger churned throughout his physical being. He had to have him… and if possible he had to have her too. But he did not possess the strength, not yet. Patience. That’s what was required. The beast had to resume his patience. Soon he would be able to feed once more.

Celeria found it difficult to breathe as time seemed to slow down following her attacks. For a split second, she hovered there motionless, trying to compose herself while her limbs were still trembling with rage. However, with her next inhale came a splitting pain in her abdomen. She bent over in momentary agony when she heard Vegeta whispering about taking her life. Her eyes widened, and, before she could move a muscle, found herself crashing into the rocks below. His speed was immense, but what was even more devastating was the concentrated force with which he delivered his blows. Celeria considered herself a prime saiyan commander, very few could even dream to match her agility and skill in battle. Yet, now she was imprisoned in her own body, a seemingly inanimate object crashing down at lightning speed. Before she could move a muscle, her journey was cut short by a sharp stone pillar which her weight had reduced to rubble.

As her body finally hit the ground, Celeria grunted and used the momentum to propel herself back into the air. Her concentration was almost cut by a sharp pain in her chest. It did not take her long to deduce that two of her ribs have been broken. Within an instant, she turned around and focused her eyes on Vegeta. While composing herself, she was charging great amounts of ki. Thus, she was quick to deliver her next attack. Green orbs had once again formed around her clenched fists and they were immediately launched with a thundering cry. This time, the attack had thrice the strength of the previous one and its speed was tripled accordingly. All the while, Celeria had kept her eyes on her opponent. His merciless grin at the sight of his own kin made her blood boil.

PostSubject: Re: The Awakening. (Complete)    The Awakening. (Complete) I_icon_minitimeMon Jul 19, 2010 8:39 am

The woman had went down without much retaliation. The sight of her crashing into the rocks brought a smirk to his face. "Hah, too often have I come across cases like this... All bark and no bite!" - Vegeta chuckled to himself at this thought. In the back of his mind, he still had difficulty processing the fact that he was battling a saiyan. A woman of his own kind. The idea still severely weighed down his mind. His chain of thought was cut by Celeria's comeback. Despite the severe impact his attack had upon her, she seemed to have shaken it off with little effort. He reluctantly thought to himself that he had rarely seen such a tactical recovery from such a harsh blow. "Wiping her out will be all the sweeter..." - Vegeta murmured through his lips as his sinister smirk widened. However, his cheer was cut short by the immense size of the attack Celeria had launched.

"From where is this woman getting all this power?!" The idea of someone with a power level as puny as hers shaking off his attack further exploded his anger. The magnitude of her attack made his mind go blank as he became determined to annihilate this woman. He clenched his teeth and exclaimed: "GALICK GUN!" He brought his palms together and thrust them forward, launching a ki wave to counter that of his opponent. The deafening crash of the two attacks against each other echoed throughout the entire planet. For a few seconds, the two beams went head to head. He had managed to catch a glimpse of her down below. Their eyes had met once more. It was then that Vegeta recounted the idea of this woman being a pure-blooded saiyan. His own kin. For a moment, his hand quivered and he felt an uneasy sensation deep within his chest at the thought of eliminating this warrior. Vegeta found this to be the very last straw. "SEE YOU IN HELL!" - He cried out and released a colossal amount of ki, his attack now dwarfing Celeria's both in strength and size. The destructive force of the combined beams was now hurdling towards the female saiyan.

Gelth continued to observe as intently as he had ever been. The Saiyans’ had erupted into a fury, the reasons as to why eluded the beast, but it mattered little to him. Still hunched behind an eroded, rocky formation, Gelth stretched out with his senses, utilising his mind’s eye to observe the intensity of the conflict. Both specimens were fine examples of their race, strong, bold creatures that exercised a succulent amount of ki energy. The male, this… ‘Prince Vegeta’ was a feast in himself. The way in which he devastated his opponent was poetic! He seemed to rely on an endless well of ki energy, although he had only demonstrated a single blow with his fist, the fissure that such an attack had created, swelled in the centre of Gelth’s being. Vegeta… Vegeta. Was this the name of his prey? It was obsession, the beast found himself absorbed by the sheer force of the Prince.

There was a dilemma however. This Vegeta, he was too powerful to consume. Yes, such a colossal meal would fuel Gelth for quite some time, it could tame his seemingly unquenchable thirst, but it was impossible, at least at this moment. The beast needed to gain power, and to do this he’d need to think smaller, but perhaps not so small that it eluded the Saiyan lady. Now, she… she would make a fine meal, and the beginning of Gelth’s universal feast. Of course, the beast would have to wait for Vegeta to dispose of the woman, and then, when she was near to death, then he could have his way with her. This would bring him ever so much closer to his goal of obtaining the ultimate prize, Vegeta.

Continuing to stalk in the shadows, Gelth felt his hunger churning in the pit of his essence. He would have her soon enough…

While upholding the energy wave, Celeria felt a slight tremor in her muscles. She had exerted far too much ki, thus she was now worried her reserves would expire at any second. Still, she shrugged off the mental warnings and added even more energy into the attack. Vegeta had blocked it, but that was no surprise. Given his power level advantage over her, Celeria was already sure he would deflect. However, what Celeria could not foresee was the stunning amount of energy Vegeta would go on to administer into his attack. In the distance, Celeria could see a massive sphere of ki absorbing her own attack and crashing down at her. Something had prevented her from fleeing. She stood her ground as the colossal sphere slowly approached. Through the thundering of the energy, Celeria could make out Vegeta's "farewell". Even in her presently endangered state, it evoked a sour smirk upon Celeria's lips. Though as the ball drew closer, her mood would change.

Her arms began trembling as the energy drew nearer, simultaneously due to her trying to keep back the ki and the dissipation of her own life-force. Finally, before the ball hit, Celeria crossed her arms and exerted the very last of her energy by forming an almost instinctive Energy Barrier. It was formed just in time to prevent Celeria's immediate obliteration, however, its strength was far from enough to dampen the destructive force of the blast. The explosion that ensued was rock-splitting and deafening. For a moment, the surroundings went black as Celeria felt her body flung back violently and crushed against the rock. The remnants of the ki had made her body scrape against the surface, burying it into the sharp rubble. Celeria clenched her teeth and upheld as much energy as she could, until her reserves had been spent. With one final push, her pupils went back following the discharge of her very last trace of energy. As a last ditch effort, she tried to grab onto the surface to stop the motion that was devastating her organs, but her fingers only made shallow trails on the soil. In the following moments, she lost consciousness, but her body continued to slide along the terrain for another few feet before finally drawing to a stop. She rested motionless, her breath imperceptible, as a mild wind slowly waved her hair.

It was done. The saiyan woman had finally collapsed. Vegeta observed her helpless body tossed along the surface. A smirk lingered in the corners of his lips until her body stopped moving. He watched her intently and deduced that she was dying, if not dead. His smirk had faded and he began a slow descent onto the ground. Landing with a light tap, he approached Celeria. Looking at her tattered body and remembering the remarks she dared throw filled him with an irresistible urge to kick her around until he's sure she's dead. Vegeta grunted and raised his palm in Celeria's direction, preparing to swiftly dispatch her into another dimension. Unexpectedly, though, he let out a deep, slow exhale and lowered his palm. For reasons unknown to him, he decided to let her find her end in these wastelands. He turned around and began making his way back to his ship. After a few steps, he turned back and looked over his shoulder back at Celeria's seemingly lifeless body.

A saiyan. A pure-blooded saiyan. "Hm." - Vegeta grunted. "Just goes to show that no saiyan should ever dare oppose me." He muttered under his breath, grinning. He turned around, but his mood failed to persist. The curiosity surrounding this revelation gnawed at his mind. No doubt, he would return and investigate this occurrence. Now, however, he had other priorities. Kakkarot's transformation still haunted the farthest recesses of his thoughts. Yes, first he would become a Super Saiyan and then claim his superiority over every warrior in the universe, saiyan or not. With these thoughts, he slowly entered his ship. His thick, black hair waved violently in the wind as the door closed behind him. In a sharp and concentrated blast, the vessel catapulted back into space until it was but a faint glimmer in the distance.

Vegeta had managed to make steady work of the Saiyan female, disposing of her as if she were rotten meat. After delivering a cataclysmic blast of ki energy, the woman had found herself severely incapacitated; broken and beaten as if she were a rag doll, left to the sullen earth. Of course, after making quick work of his foe, the Prince then suddenly departed, leaving behind her rotting carcass, and returning to his oddly shaped vessel. The beast idly waited of course, watching as the spherical star ship roared its explosive engines, and the already splintered earth shattered into a thousand more pieces. As the vessel took into the sky, departing at a phenomenal speed, Gelth peered into the heart of he engines from below, the searing blue flames setting his dampened green eyes alight. It was at this moment that he knew, it was now safe to approach his prey.

Eerily silent at first, the beast crawled towards the incapacitated Saiyan female. His claws were buried deep into the ground, gripping the rock and ash with his talons, whilst his back was arched predatorily, with his tendrils spreading like a peacock’s tale. Of course, there was nothing attractive about this sight, in fact, if the Saiyan would have been conscious, she would no doubt have frozen in her place, fear would have perplexed her every muscle, Gelth was certain of this. First he was tens of metres away, and then just a few, her scent becoming more favourable as the moments and the distance closed. Finally, after an eternity of waiting, the tall, tempered beast lorded menacingly above his prey.

The woman had seen better days, this was certain. From this intense proximity to her ravaged remains, Gelth could make out every bruise and splinter that had been inflicted upon her. Her pale, peach-like facial features had faded, her once proud bone structure had been reduced to a canvas of what appeared to be very untidy art. Even her muscular frame now appeared to be curled, exposed and pathetic. Had an angel truly fallen from the heavens, and right into the beast’s clutch?

Gelth’s tendrils whispered sweet desires into his willing mind. They wished to conceal their prey, to clutch the dying body in their merciless grip, absorbing what life force remained. His tendrils, and even himself, had never experienced a feed before, the beast wondered how the sensation would take him? He even wondered, when his hungry body was finished with the meat, what would be left of the corpse? Would he desire more than just the life force and ki? What control would he have over his mentally whilst he fed upon this Saiyan’s soul? All these questions, and all the mystery excited Gelth. There was of course only one way to find out.

His slithering tendrils creped towards their target, each with a mind of its own, and a desire to absorb everything that this woman was. But as the first of his weapons stroked the surface of the woman’s face, Gelth froze. He didn’t stop in any part due to pity, but a revelation had struck his mind. This Saiyan was just one, and after he had finished his feeding, he would probably be unable to locate the remainder of her race for many years to come. The universe, THIS universe was gigantic, space separated everything, and to pinpoint his succulent prey would require certain… subtleties. An idea had stricken the beast’s mind. What if he could retain just a little more patience? There were other uses that could be made of this Saiyan. She was currently weak, and probably moments from death. What if the beast could prolong her life? What if he could implant her with a strand of his newly developed DNA? If he did this, it would surely resurrect her consciousness momentarily, giving her enough time to return to her brethren. This would ultimately lead Gelth to a rich source of prey, much more superior than just a single withering damsel. It was decided, the beast knew what he would do. Whilst his DNA resided in a single recess of the female’s brain, he would be able to see through her, hear what she could hear, and even feel what she felt. He would of course have powers of suggestion of her subconscious, enough so that he may even sway her actions and behaviour.

A malignant grin flooded to the surface of the beast’s face, before finally he spoke his first words in this life. “Patience my children” he sympathetically muttered to his tendrils, “we will have our time, this I am certain.” And on that note, Gelth’s menacing eyes began to ignite, their glow a dull green hue, as a single bolt of energy left them, quickly entering into the skull of his soon-to-be prey. And in that moment, the beast was gone, nowhere to be seem, replaced only by the sporadic winds that swept tirelessly through the valleys of the planet.

Only one word now echoed in the peripheries of the Saiyan’s brain: ’Awaken.

For a long while, Celeria remained unconscious. The very last thing going through her mind before she went out cold was the hope that she might keep her life. Her body couldn't move and she was unconscious, yet she could hear herself think. As time went on, it was evident that Vegeta had let her live. But what were her chances on this rock? She could not move a muscle, even though she tried. She felt as if she were semi-comatose, or maybe even fully. Her thoughts raced in desperation. She needed to find some way to move. Yet, all her energy was spent. What is more, she was unable to determine the condition of her body. What if all her bones are broken? All organs punctured? The torrent of thoughts was slowly pacifying. Celeria felt as if she was about to take a long deserved sleep. In reality, she was slowly dying.
Once her thoughts had settled and soothing darkness engulfed her, everything was perfectly still and Celeria felt at peace.

'Awaken.'

Celeria gasped and suddenly rose up into a seating position. Her eyes were wide open and her pupils dilated as she continued to breathe heavily. Each breath was a significant strain for her body, she felt a piercing, insufferable sensation every time she tried to breathe. She took a second to visually examine herself and the sight had shocked her; never had she been in worse shape. Wearily, she took out a remote control from the inside of her armor. She was in sheer surprise that it remained in one piece. Tapping in the right coordinates, she waited for her spacepod to approach, which it did - in a matter of seconds. Without a moment to spare, she entered the pod and quickly punched in the commands. Celeria needed to return to headquarters as soon as possible. The pain was intensifying and, as the pod took off, Celeria drifted in and out of consciousness. A healing tank was the only image that occupied her mind.
